Friday may bring storms, hotter temperatures in Kansas City that could last through weekend
Friday could bring scattered thunderstorms and higher temperatures in Kansas City that may last through the weekend, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.
There’s an 80% chance of rain in the Kansas City metro area Friday, with higher chances of storms in the morning that will fizzle out around noon and the potential for storms in the late afternoon around 6 p.m., Lauria said in a weather report for The Star. Storms in the morning could mean a lesser chance of rain later in the day, he said.
Rain could continue into next week, with chances sitting at 30% on Saturday and Monday, 40% on Tuesday, 20% on Wednesday and 30% on Thursday, according to the forecast.
The next week will also bring hotter temperatures in the Kansas City area, with high temperatures predicted at 84 on Friday, 93 on Saturday and Sunday, 90 on Monday, 87 on Tuesday, 88 on Wednesday and 89 on Thursday. Lauria said the heat index over the weekend will range from 100 to 105 degrees.
