‘Election Day forecast looks fantastic’ in Kansas City with highs in the mid-70s
The Election Day forecast for Kansas City is calling for plenty of sunshine and highs expected in the mid- to upper 70s, much cooler than average, according to FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
“It’s going to be another beautiful day,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. “The Election Day forecast looks fantastic.”
The afternoon highs will be much cooler than usual in the metro. The average temperature for this time of year in Kansas City is 89 degrees with the average low of 68 degrees.
“It’s going to be another sunny day with the UV index coming in high at a 9 and we’re going to enjoy pleasant conditions with low humidity today and really tomorrow as well,” Ritter said.
After that, however, the humidity will quickly return, which will fuel thunderstorms heading into end of the work week.
“Friday morning, rain chances are there,” Ritter said. “They certainly will be with us for the first half of the day.”
There is the possibility of rain around the Kansas City region this weekend, but not everyone will see showers, she said.
The National Weather Service in Kansas City said severe weather currently is not expected when the thunderstorm chances return Friday.
The summer’s heat and humidity will return with the chances for rain, with highs climbing back into the 90s this weekend, Ritter said.
“So enjoy the 70s to low 80s for the next couple of days because things are about to get a little bit more realistic for August,” she said.
