‘Another hot one’: Kansas City area temperatures to feel near triple digits Wednesday
Wednesday will be “another hot one” as temperatures feel like nearly 100 degrees in the Kansas City area, FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter said.
It’s thanks — once again — to the combination of heat and humidity, said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
Some pop-up storms are also possible late Wednesday, Ritter said, just like the last few days.
“But, not everyone will see the rain,” Ritter said.
The heat index numbers will climb into or near the triple digits in several spots in and just outside of the Kansas City metropolitan area.
“It does look like it’s going to be pretty toasty outside today,” Ritter said.
Early Thursday morning, “some pretty strong storms” are likely to move in. According to the National Weather Service, the storms should move in between 3 to 9 a.m. Thursday and could bring strong winds and heavy rain.
Thunderstorm and chance of rain will continue off and on throughout the day.
“As result, we’re anticipating our temperatures to be a lot cooler compared to today,” Ritter said.
Thursday temperatures should reach the mid-80s.
