Thunderstorms could roll into Kansas City on Thursday and persist into weekend

Depending on how storms in Nebraska develop Wednesday, Kansas City could see rainfall and thunderstorms Thursday through Saturday, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

“If the storms form out in central Nebraska, they’ll miss us to the west,” Lauria said in a weather update to the Star. “If the storms form closer to Omaha, we should get some decent rain around here first thing on Thursday morning.”

There is a 70% chance of rain early Thursday, followed by a 60% chance early Friday and 50% Saturday, according to the forecast.

Temperatures for Wednesday will be in the 70s in the morning and could reach 93 degrees. Highs through next Tuesday remain in the mid-80s to mid-90s, Lauria said.

Forecast highs for the week are 84 on Thursday, 87 on Friday and Saturday, 89 on Sunday, 91 on Monday and 93 on Tuesday.
