Four teenagers hospitalized in serious condition after car flips on Kansas highway
Four teenagers sustained serious injuries Wednesday evening after their vehicle flipped over near I-435 North and Shawnee Mission Parkway, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The driver of the 2001 Ford lost control while traveling on the entrance ramp just after 5:30 p.m. from Shawnee Mission Parkway toward Northbound I-435, hitting the grass median and ejecting everyone in the vehicle, according to a highway patrol crash log.
Kansas Highway Patrol was notified of the incident around 7:40 p.m. and closed part of I-435 North until the vehicle could be towed.
The driver and three passengers, all 15- and 16-year-old males, sustained serious injuries, according to the crash log. One passenger was taken to Kansas University Medical Center and the driver and the other two passengers were taken to Overland Park Regional Hospital, highway patrol said.
No further details about their injuries were available.
