Sunny weather in forecast heading into weekend in Kansas City; storms return Sunday

The remainder of the week will be sunny with warm temperatures in the 70 and 80s in the Kansas City area, according to FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.

“We are expecting our temperatures to warm back up close to average in the lower 70s,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. “It’s going to feel really nice outside.”

But the pollen and mold counts will be extremely high, she said.

“As we go through the rest of the week and the first half of the weekend we stay dry and we get warmer,” Ritter said. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s on Friday and lower 80s on Saturday.

“Then we introduce more rain and more unsettled weather and cooler temps for the back half of the seven-day forecast,” she said.

Highs will drop to the lower 70s Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and the upper 60s on Wednesday. Normal high for this time of year in Kansas City is 70 degrees.
