Warm temperatures linger in Kansas City, but the wind will die down on Sunday

Mild and slightly above average temperatures are expected Sunday but conditions will not be as windy, according to FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank.

“It was pretty windy the last 24 hours and we have been dealing with the same front, but it’s come and gone,” Frank said in a weather update to The Star. Wind on Sunday is not going to be quite as strong.

On Saturday, wind speeds reached 52 mph in downtown Kansas City, according the National Weather Service, located in Pleasant Hill.

On Sunday, the forecast calls for mild, warm conditions.

“Temperatures-wise, we are going to be in pretty good shape; it is a little bit cooler in the mid-60s, not all that bad for this time of the year,” Frank said.

Heading into next week, Tuesday will be cooler with the high temperatures in the 50s with a chance of rain.

“Thursday is going to be one of those days like last Thursday where it splits pretty good from north to south but it is going to be cooler by Friday and Saturday when the front pushes south,” Frank said.
