Warm temperatures and wind gusts up to 45 mph expected in Kansas City over weekend

Kansas City area residents hoping to get outside this weekend can expect warm but windy weather.

Temperatures will rise into the low 70s by the middle of the day, said FOX4 Meteorologist Alex Countee in a weather update for The Star.

The day should stay dry, he said, with the exception of a few showers popping up along and north of Interstate 70.

Winds, however, will be strong with gusts up to 45 miles per hour, Countee said.

He expects those winds to stick around overnight, slowing down over the course of the day Sunday.

Sunday, he said, residents can expect “sunshine with a little bit of breezy weather.”

Moving into the work week, Countee said, temperatures will stay in the 50s and 60s with a chance of rain on Tuesday.
