Take advantage of sunny skies in KC before rain arrives starting Sunday afternoon

Friday and Saturday will be pleasant outside, but Kansas City’s weather takes a turn starting Sunday afternoon.

“We have a beautiful forecast for today,” said FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter, who provided a weather update to The Star. “We’re expecting lots of sunshine and highs ending up in the mid-40s and the weather stays quiet for today and tomorrow.”

Saturday’s high could climb into the upper-50s.

“On Sunday, this is when things start to change a little bit,” Ritter said. “The active pattern returns.”

Rain will start after lunchtime and continue into the evening.

“Highs are going to be in the 40s on Sunday, but they’re going to be dropping on Monday and that could present itself as a little wintry mix,” she said.

The cooling trend is expected to continue into next week, bringing with it a chance for snow.
