A little snow for some as cold temperatures descend upon Kansas City
A winter storm expected to skirt the Kansas City metro area to the west will bring colder temperatures and a little snow to some — primarily on the Kansas side, according to FOX4 meteorologist Michelle Bogowith.
“Cloud cover will be increasing area wide and temperatures, well they’re warming into the lower 40s,” said Bogowith, who provides weather updates to The Star. “We are going to get a little colder though overnight tonight as we track a little disturbance that will impact just some of you and most of you on the Kansas side.”

The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.
A little light snow is expected to fall from the disturbance, with some accumulation possible, she said.
“We are only talking a dusting up to maybe half of an inch,” Bogowith said. “This is all going to come before sunrise tomorrow. It shouldn’t have many impacts at all on your morning commute, but it will impact temperatures.”
The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill said on Twitter that temperatures Thursday morning will be in the teens with wind chills in the single digits.
“Stay warm tonight folks!” the weather service said.
It won’t be much warmer on Thursday, with the high climbing only to near freezing. It will be warmer Friday with highs in the 40s and Saturday, when temps will climb into the 50s.
The temperatures will drop back into the 40s for the end of the weekend and the start of the work week. There’s a chance for rain on Sunday, she said.
