These are the Top 10 car crash locations in Kansas City for the first month of 2020

Rear-end wrecks caused by inattentive driving were the leading cause of collisions in Kansas City’s top crash locations for the month of January, according to data released at the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners’ meeting Tuesday.

All but two of the Top 10 highest crash locations listed inattention and rear-end impact as the leading cause of the accidents. The other two were lane merging and lane violations, according to Kansas City police.

The top location was Interstate 435 and Holmes Road in south Kansas City. Interstate 70 and Interstate 435 in east Kansas City and 75th Street and Bruce Watkins Drive rounded out the top three.

  4. Bannister Road & Interstate 435

  5. Interstate 470 & Blue Ridge Boulevard

  6. 55th Street & Bruce Watkins Drive

  7. Front Street & Interstate 435

  8. Front Street & Interstate 35

  9. Red Bridge Road & Interstate 49

  10. Interstate 435 & Wornall Road
