Rain, snow expected for some in the Kansas City area by the middle of the week
The work week will get off to a quiet start in the Kansas City area, but rain and maybe snow for some will be possible by the middle of the week, said FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
“It’s going to be a day (Monday) where we will be slowly getting the clouds out of here and eventually we are going to see enough sunshine to pop us up to about 40 degrees,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
“We are starting out the week pretty quiet, but things are going to get a little busier as we head toward the middle of the week,” she said.

The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.
A closer look at forecast
A steady stream of clouds will continue to move into the metro area from the south and west Monday.
“It’s going to be a day where we are going to have gray skies — at times peeks of sunshine — but relatively quiet conditions,” Ritter said. “No rain or snow in our forecast.”
But during the next 24 to 48 hours, rain will move into the area from the south and west. Eventually, it will turn to snow for some in the Kansas City area, she said.
The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill said the snow is expected to move into the area Tuesday night into Wednesday.
“There will be a chance for minor wet, slushy, snow accumulations generally along and south of the Missouri River,” the weather service said on Twitter.
“The rest of the week will be quiet, but colder, especially Thursday and Friday,” Ritter said.
The lows on Thursday and Friday morning will be in the single digits and teens, with wind chill values in the single digits to below zero, according to weather service.
