Some light rain falling in KC. Warmer temps, dry conditions expected this weekend
Some light rain has been falling around the Kansas City metro and the colder weather was expected to persist Friday evening, but sunshine and warmer temperatures are on the way, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.
There is a chance for sprinkles Friday night and temperatures will drop down into the upper 20s in the overnight hours.
But on Saturday, temperatures will be in the upper 40s to low 50s, and Lauria said it will only get warmer from there as the colder air moves out of the region for a couple of days.
Then on Sunday, the forecast calls for sunny skies with temperatures in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees in Kansas City.
The next chance for wintry precipitation will be Tuesday.
“We may hold onto the warmth even on Monday from Kansas City south, but by Monday, colder air is going to be pressing down from the north and that’s going to move in as we head toward Tuesday,” Lauria said in a weather update to The Star. “That combined with moisture means some sort of freezing rain, snow mix possible Tuesday with cold weather lingering into Wednesday of next week.”
