KC could see sprinkles Friday afternoon. But this weekend’s forecast is warm
The Kansas City area could see isolated rain showers throughout the day on Friday, FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter said.
Thanks to KC’s now above freezing temperatures, that moisture won’t fall as snow or ice, said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
Snow that is moving in from the north should be all liquid by the time it reaches Kansas City, Ritter said.
That’s “if it even falls at all,” she said.
Temperatures could reach 40 degrees Friday afternoon.
On Saturday, temperatures should get just above 50 degrees.
BEHIND THE STORY
MOREHow we did this story
The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.
For Super Bowl Sunday, temperatures should reach the upper 60s.
The National Weather Service described Sunday’s forecast as a “Super” day.
Monday will be warm as well with highs in the low 60s and a low of 48 degrees, but the warm weather will be out as fast as it rolled in. Tuesday has a high of 32 degrees and some chance of snow.
