KC may get another round of snow late Tuesday, but sunnier skies are on the horizon

A storm system may bring yet another round of snow to Kansas City this week, but temperatures this weekend are looking up, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

Tuesday will be cloudy with a high of 35, said Lauria, who provided a weather update to The Star.

A system will start moving into the Kansas City area late Tuesday and into Wednesday morning.

“There is a little weak system that we need to watch,” Lauria said. “We will have some snow in our area lingering until around if not maybe just after day break.”

Anywhere from a dusting to 1.5 inches of snow may fall, with the south side feeling more of the impact.

“We’ll have to start paying attention to the roads,” Lauria said.

Sunnier skies will arrive Friday and the temperatures will increase this weekend.

“I don’t know if we’ll get any record highs on Sunday, but we may get close,” Lauria said. “Look at that, Super Bowl Sunday, temperatures up into the 60s.”
