Forecast calls for mostly dry weather, and warmer temps, this week in Kansas City
The upcoming work week will be mostly dry as temperatures warm up, climbing into the 50s for some by Super Bowl Sunday, said FOX4 meteorologist Alex Countee.
“As we move throughout this afternoon, the fog will be fading away,” said Countee, who provides weather updates to The Star. “Mostly cloudy skies, though, with a high temperature (Sunday) right around 41 degrees with pretty light wind.”
Kansas City typically sees a high of 39 degrees and a low of 20 degrees this time of year, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill.
BEHIND THE STORY

The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.
The next couple of days, however, will cool down a little bit as clouds continue to persist across the metro, he said.
“We could see a slight chance for a little rain or snow to the south and west into Kansas,” Countee said about Tuesday’s forecast. “After that, we’ll quickly warm back up into the low 40s come Wednesday. We’re actually going to continue that warm-up through the end of the next week.”
By Saturday, temperatures are expected to reach the mid-40s, and potentially into the 50s for some, heading into Super Bowl Sunday, he said.
“Otherwise, it’s going to stay pretty dry over the next seven days,” Countee said.
