Fog in overnight forecast for KC. Next chance for wintry precipitation is Tuesday

As the snow melts in the Kansas City area, FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank says one thing drivers should be aware of is the fog.

The area will continue to see foggy conditions in the next few days due to all the moisture at the surface mixed with the warmer air, Frank said.

“I think into the overnight hours for the next couple of days, we’re going to deal with some dense fog, under a mile visibility. Keep that in mind,” Frank added.

Sunday’s forecast calls patchy fog in the morning and then party sunny skies later. The temperature is expected to reach a high of 41.

“Keep in mind our average high is about 38 degrees. We’re above that heading into the next week, and it looks like we’re going to continue to build back into the 40s,” Frank said. “A few chances for rain here or there or a light mix. Shouldn’t be much of an issue.”

According to the long-range forecast, there is a 20% chance for wintry precipitation on Tuesday.
