Warmer temperatures in weekend forecast for KC. Next system may arrive early next week

The winter storm that blanketed the Kansas City area with snow is moving east and temperatures are expected warm up a bit this weekend, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

Saturday’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with a high of 34 degrees.

Then on Sunday and Monday, temperatures are expected to be in the upper 30s to low 40s.

In a weather update to The Star, Lauria said the next system meteorologists will track is expected to move through Kansas City on Tuesday.

“That could be a rain/snow mix or snow-changing-to-rain type thing. Keep an eye on it. Obviously, things could change depending on the amount of cold air in place,” Lauria said.
