Snow wraps up in Kansas City metro; areas east of KC could see more
This week’s winter storm in Kansas City is wrapping up as snowfall comes to a stop, according to FOX4 meteorologist Alex Countee.
Friday’s snow should stop mid-afternoon and temperatures will hang around freezing into the evening, said Countee, who provides weather updates for The Star.
In the metro area, snow was expected to stop around noon.
“We could have a couple snow showers way out towards the east,” Countee said. “After that, we’re going to stay cloudy.”
Kansas City could see up to a tenth of an inch of additional snowfall Friday, Countee said.

The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.
This weekend, temperatures will climb to the upper 30s before reaching the low 40s early next week.
According to the National Weather Service, 2 to 3 inches of snow had fallen across the metro area by early Friday morning.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for the region until 6 p.m. Friday.
