Snow, cold will move into KC after a few days of sunshine. Here’s what to expect.
Cold temperatures and snow will hit Kansas City this weekend, but should clear out in time for the Chief’s game, according to Fox4 meteorologist Michelle Bogowith.
Temperatures will remain in the 50s Tuesday and Wednesday before reaching nearly 60 degrees on Thursday, according to Bogowith, who provides weather updates for The Star.
Then comes the Friday chill.
The National Weather Service said wintry weather will move in on Friday into Saturday.
BEHIND THE STORY
MOREHow we did this story
The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.
“Rain chances will continue through the (Friday) evening commute as the cold air starts to filter in on the back of this system,” Bogowith said.
As temperatures dip on Friday, the chances of rain will increase and light snow could fall in the evening.
Saturday morning could see light snow likely southeast of the metro area, Bogowith said.
According to the weather service, the usual high temperature for this time of year is 38 degrees, with a low of 20.
But good news for Chiefs fans: The system should clear out Saturday, leaving Sunday partially cloudy with a high of 42 for Sunday’s game.
