Temperatures in Kansas City to drop Sunday as Chiefs play Chargers at Arrowhead

As the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium, the temperature will steadily drop.

Temperatures around the Kansas City area will reach a high of 43 during the day but will feel close to freezing as conditions get colder. By the time the day is over, the metro is likely to see a little snow, said FOX4 meteorologist Alex Countee, who provided a weather update to The Star.

“We’re going to see temperatures cool down actually throughout the entire day, that goes for Arrowhead Stadium as well,” Countee said.

“Once we head towards late afternoon, evening, we’ll start to see a few snowflakes move on through,” Countee said. “Not expecting much in the way of accumulations and by midnight tonight, we’re actually going to see that wrap up.”

Monday will be the coolest day of the week, with a high of 35 degrees.

The forecast warms up with 51 degrees expected on New Year’s Day.

Another system will arrive late Thursday and into Friday, potentially bringing with it rain or snow.
