Nine traffic deaths, 3 drownings reported across Missouri over July 4 holiday weekend
Nine traffic deaths and three drownings were reported across Missouri over the July Fourth holiday weekend, according to a report Monday by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The patrol counted the incidents during the holiday period from 6 p.m. Thursday until 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
No boating deaths were recorded during that period, the patrol said.
The patrol also reported 113 injuries in 235 traffic crashes. There were also 125 driving while intoxicated cases and nine boating while intoxicated cases.
Comparatively, during the 2025 July Fourth holiday season, the patrol reported 273 traffic crashes with nine deaths and 138 injuries.
