Blue Springs woman killed in car crash Saturday near Truman Reservoir in Missouri

A Blue Springs woman was killed in a traffic crash Saturday in Benton County, Missouri, near the Truman Reservoir, according to the state highway patrol.

Andralee A. Taylor, 32, died in the wreck about 7:45 p.m. on U.S. 65 highway, about one mile north of state route MM, according to a crash report from the Missouri Highway Patrol. The scene of the crash is about 120 miles southeast of Kansas City.

Taylor was driving a 2009 Toyota Camry north on U.S. 65 and was overtaking another vehicle when she swerved to avoid a head-on collision with oncoming traffic, according to the patrol’s report.

She lost control of the car, which traveled off the right side of the road, hit an embankment, overturned and hit a tree before coming to rest on its top.

Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
