Ballot Measures

Missouri has two statewide issues on ballots for this election.

Amendment 1 would allow the legislature to make child care facilities exempt from paying property taxes. Proponents of the ballot measure say it will help increase child care options in the state and address labor shortages.

Amendment 4 is a redo of a 2022 vote that would increase funding for the Kansas City Police Department from 20% to 25% of the city’s budget. That comes out to an additional $38.7 million from Kansas City taxpayers. The entire state gets to vote on the issue because KCPD is under state control.
