A popular grocery chain could be adding a second Northland location as its footprint grows around Kansas City.

A nearly 100,000-square-foot Dillons could soon be built on an around 13-acre parcel of land in Twin Creek Village near Tiffany Springs Road and Platte Purchase Drive and the Central Bank Sporting Complex.

The development documents submitted to the city outline plans for a 99,982-square-foot grocery store, along with a 1,120-square-foot convenience store, built on 13.7 acres of land owned by Lenexa-based Oddo Development Company.

The store would also include a drive-thru pharmacy, dedicated area for picking up grocery orders and fuel pumps.

The proposal comes just months after Kansas City moved forward with plans for another new Dillons store in the Northland off Northeast Shoal Creek Parkway and North Oak Trafficway in March, and as both Olathe and Lee’s Summit advance store plans.

Kansas City’s plan commission will discuss the proposal in its August meeting.

Dillons, which has several locations across Kansas, falls under its parent company Kroger, a grocery company based in Ohio, overseeing several regional brands. The brand’s plans for expansion in Olathe and Missouri mark its return to the Kansas City metro area after nearly 20 years.
