Man found dead after early morning shooting in Kansas City, Kansas: Police
One man was killed in an early morning shooting in Kansas City, Kansas, Saturday, police said.
Officers responded around 3:45 a.m. to the 300 block of Kansas Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, they found a man lying in the street with apparent gunshot wounds.
Paramedics responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Police have not yet publicly identified the man who died.
No details were immediately available about what led to the shooting.
The killing is the 14th homicide in Kansas City, Kansas, this year, according to data tracked by The Star. At this time last year, the city had recorded 11 homicides.
