Weekend’s third homicide: Man shot in Kansas City, Kansas, home dies at hospital

A man found shot inside a Kansas City, Kansas, home Sunday afternoon died at a hospital, a police spokesperson said.

Officers responded shortly after 3 p.m. to a shooting at the Forest Glenn Estates apartments in the 6300 block of Sandusky Avenue, said Officer Tykeasha Berry of the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

There, officers found a man inside a home suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died, Berry said.

No further details, including suspect information and the circumstances that led up to the shooting, were released by police. The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s major case unit, is investigating the homicide, the third of the weekend.

The killing is the city’s seventh homicide of the year, according to data tracked by The Star. That compares to eight homicides reported by this time last year.
