Sarah Tepikian was driving home to the River Market when shots rang out nearby.

“I saw people running, and I heard gunshots,” she said.

In the commotion, Tepikian said another car hit her SUV at the intersection of West Pennway, West 21st and Summit streets. Standing by her totalled vehicle, which had its airbags out and side crumpled, Tepikian struggled to remember specifics of the crash.

“You’re trying to avoid gunshots, and it’s a little blurry,” she said.

“I wish that we would stop shooting people in the middle of the day,” Tepikian said.
