Man fatally shot Wednesday at residence in Kansas City’s Santa Fe neighborhood
The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a shooting near Kansas City’s Santa Fe neighborhood that left one man dead Wednesday.
Officers with the Kansas City Police Department were dispatched around 12:20 p.m. to a residence in the 3000 block of Bellefontaine Avenue .on reports of a shooting, according to a press release from KCPD spokesperson Capt. Jake Becchina.
A man was transported to an area hospital with at least one gunshot wound, where he was pronounced dead, Becchina said.
Thursday, police publicly identified the victim as Terrell Bullock, 34.
Preliminary information gathered by investigators indicates the shooting occurred inside or near the front of a residence, Becchina said. Officers do not have information on a potential suspect.
Homicide detectives remained at the scene Wednesday afternoon to canvas the neighborhood for witnesses and talk with people who were at the scene when officers initially arrived, Becchina said.
The shooting marks Kansas City’s 125th homicide of 2025, compared to 131 at this time last year, according to data tracked by The Star, which includes fatal police shootings.
