One man is dead after being shot at a parking lot party in Kansas City on Saturday night.
Police were called to a shooting just before 7 p.m. to a party in a parking lot at 53rd Street and Prospect Avenue. Upon arrival, officers were directed to a convenience store, where they found a man in the parking lot with a gunshot wound, according to Sgt. Philip DiMartino, spokesperson for the Kansas City Police Department.
Lifesaving measures were taken, but medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police later identified the victim as 30-year-old Rahmalle Ceasar, a police spokesman said Sunday.
No one is yet in custody, but DiMartino said detectives are working to determine what led to the shots being fired and are canvassing for witnesses, footage and physical evidence.
