Man stabbed to death near northeast Kansas City apartment building

One man died early Thursday morning after police found him with multiple stab wounds in a northeast Kansas City neighborhood.

Officers responded around 3:15 a.m. to the 1300 block of Admiral Boulevard to a reported cutting, said Officer Alayna Gonzalez, a police spokesperson. When they arrived, officers were flagged down by a man who said someone had been attacked and needed help, Gonzalez said.

Officers then found a man lying in an apartment complex parking lot suffering from multiple stab wounds. Paramedics responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Police have not yet publicly identified the man who was killed.

According to a news release, a preliminary investigation shows an argument may have escalated to the stabbing.

As of Thursday morning, police had not yet identified a suspect, and no one was in custody, Gonzalez said.

Investigators are processing the scene for evidence and looking for witnesses.

The killing is Kansas City’s 95th homicide of 2025, according to data tracked by The Star, which includes fatal police shootings. At this time last year, the city had recorded 86 homicides.
