Triple shooting leaves 3 seriously injured in a south Kansas City, Kansas, neighborhood

A shooting in a residential area of the Kansas City, Kansas, Riverview neighborhood left three men seriously injured, police said.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired just before 9 p.m. Wednesday at the 1600 block of Ridge Avenue near the intersection of South 16th Street. They found three men, one inside a vehicle and two in the street, suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Nancy Chartrand, a police spokesperson.

Paramedics transported the three victims to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Two of the men were recovering early Thursday morning, Chartrand said, while one man was still in critical condition.

Police said suspects fled before officers arrived on the scene but didn’t provide information about the suspects.

Detectives are working to determine what led up to the shooting.

No other information was available as of Thursday morning.

An investigation is ongoing. Police said anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call the Crime Stoppers TIPS hotline at 816-474-8477.
