Man found shot to death in Olathe neighborhood Tuesday, police say

Update: Police identified the victim as 28-year-old Eduardo E. Portillo.

The Olathe Police Department is investigating a homicide after they found a man who was shot in a residential area Tuesday.

Officers responded to the 15900 block of West 127th Street, near South Arapaho Drive, to an armed disturbance call. They found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, Sgt. John Moncayo, a spokesperson with Olathe Police Department, said in an email.

Paramedics transported the man to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

An investigation is ongoing and there is no immediate threat to the public, Moncayo said.

Moncayo said in a statement that all individuals involved in the shooting have been identified and contacted. Police did not immediately say whether anyone was in custody.
