Teen killed, 2 adults, juvenile arrested in shooting at park in Kansas City, Kansas

One teen is dead, and three people were arrested after a shooting at Klamm Park in Kansas City, Kansas, a spokesman for the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office said.

The victim was identified as 18-year-old Branden Baskin of Kansas City, Kansas, said Capt. Michael Kroening with the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a shooting shortly before 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the park at 2515 N. 27th Street in Kansas City, Kansas, Kroening said. The park is behind Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department’s Station 14.

Arriving deputies found Baskin dead at the scene. They arrested three suspects, two adults and one juvenile, in the shooting and they were being held pending formal charges, Kroening said. The ages of the suspects were not released.

The sheriff’s investigations unit is investigating the homicide. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
