1 fatally shot in Kansas City’s Blue Hills neighborhood Thursday night, police say

One person was fatally shot Thursday night in Kansas City’s Blue Hills neighborhood, according to police.

Officers responded around 10 p.m. to 57th Street and Park Avenue, Sgt. Jake Becchina, a department spokesman, said in a statement. A gunshot victim, described as a male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further information was not immediately disclosed by police.

The killing marks Kansas City’s 156th homicide of 2023, according to data maintained by The Star.
