Woman dies at hospital after shooting in northeast Kansas City, KS, Tuesday afternoon
One woman died and others were injured after a shooting in northeast Kansas City, Kansas, Tuesday afternoon.
A woman in her late 20s was found lying on the sidewalk with an apparent gunshot wound. She was transported to a hospital with critical injuries, where she later died, Nancy Chartrand, a police spokesperson, said.
Kansas City, Kansas, police responded to the shooting shortly before 1 p.m. near North 26th Street and Quindaro Boulevard.
Police said a car parked on the street and several people exited the vehicle and confronted a resident on a nearby porch. Gunfire was exchanged between the parties.
The woman was shot and critically injured in the exchange.
Emergency medical crews rushed the victim to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Others involved went to the hospital with possible minor injuries. The resident was also injured.
Police said they do not know yet what lead to the confrontation. No suspect information was available.
