Man found fatally shot late Sunday in Kansas City, Kansas

A man was found fatally shot late Sunday in Kansas City, Kansas.

Police were called to a shooting about 9:20 p.m. in the 4800 Block of Wood Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department spokesman Officer Dustin Dierenfeldt said in an email.

Law enforcement found a man in his 40s who had been shot.

The man, who has not yet been publicly identified, was declared dead when officers arrived, Dierenfeldt said.

No suspect was publicly identified as of Monday morning. The investigation is ongoing.

The man’s death is the city’s 22nd homcide of the year. This time last year, 22 homicides had also been reported.
