KC police seek car after man is shot and killed outside Northland Price Chopper
Update: Kansas City police said in an email Friday evening that the vehicle has been located and detectives were speaking with two people in connection to the June 8 shooting.
Kansas City police were seeking the public’s help in locating a vehicle in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred outside a Northland Price Chopper earlier this week.
The shooting happened in the parking lot outside the grocery store at 9717 N. Ash Ave. on June 8. A man, who had been shot inside a car, died at the scene. The victim was identified as 21-year-old Trinton Phillips.
Police released on Friday two images of a vehicles they were attempting to locate in connection to the homicide investigation.
The vehicle of interest is described as a black 2015 to 2018 model Volkswagen Jetta with four doors. The car possibly has a temporary front tag. Police said the front license placard appeared to have a symbol with writing underneath.
Occupants of the car “should be considered armed and dangerous,” police stated.
