1,077 crimes reported in KC during the second week of May. How many were near you?
More than 1,070 crimes were reported during the second week of May in Kansas City, with non-aggravated domestic assaults accounting for slightly more than 12% of them, according to a Kansas City Star crime map created with data released by the city.
From May 10 through May 16, police received 131 non-aggravated domestic assault reports, the most frequent crime reported for that week. The next highest categories of crimes reported included 94 aggravated assaults and 89 property damage reports, according to the data.
Other top reported crimes included 71 stolen autos, 58 thefts from autos and 55 non-aggravated assaults. Police also responded to 45 trespassings, 42 aggravated domestic assaults and, 37 reports of stealing and 34 shoplifting crimes.
In total, there were 1,077 total crimes reported for the week. That compares to 1,038 crimes that were reported for the week of May 3.
