1,038 crimes reported during first week of May in KC. See if any occurred near you.

Assaults make up about one-third of the more than 1,000 crimes reported during the first full week of May in Kansas City, according to a Kansas City Star crime map created with data released by the city.

From May 3 to May 9, police received 351 assault reports. Of those, 159 were considered aggravated in nature and 185 were related to domestic incidents.

A total of 1,038 crimes were reported.

The previous week saw 1,109 crimes.

Other crimes the week of May 3 included 74 stolen vehicles, 31 residential burglaries and seven robberies at businesses.

The map displays the locations of offenses with multi-colored dots and is searchable by street address. Clicking a dot reveals information about the crime. The map includes filters for different types of crime, and selecting a filter allows users to see only the occurrences of that crime.
