Shooting on Metropolitan Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, leaves victim dead

Kansas City, Kansas, police were investigating the city’s latest homicide after a shooting victim died at a hospital overnight, police said.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 11:15 p.m. Monday in the the 1100 block of Metropolitan Avenue, the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department said on Twitter.

Arriving officers found a male in his late teens with life-threatening injuries. The victim was rushed to a hospital where he died from the gunshot wounds, police said.

No suspect information was available.

The fatal shooting is the 14th homicide of the year in Kansas City, Kansas. By this time last year, the city had seven homicides.
