Weeks after woman’s body was found in Northland apartment, death is ruled a homicide

After a woman’s body was found inside a Northland apartment in March, her death is being investigated as a homicide, Kansas City police said Tuesday.

Police were called March 22 to investigate a death in the 1500 block of Northeast Vivion Road, where the Knollwood Apartments are located.

The death was ruled a homicide Sunday, police said. Police identified the woman as Gaklin Kuku Kori, 27.

Police have not said how the woman died, any other details surrounding their investigation or what led the Jackson County medical examiner to rule the death a homicide.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police department’s homicide unit at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
