Rolling gun battle between two tow truck drivers in Kansas City leaves one wounded

A pair of tow truck drivers engaged in a rolling gun battle through a Kansas City neighborhood Tuesday evening, according to police.

One driver was shot and was in serious condition.

Officers responded to the shooting around 8:30 p.m. at 59th Street and Norfleet Road, according to the Kansas City Police Department. The shooting had started when one tow truck driver tried to run over another tow truck driver.

The altercation began in Raytown and continued into Kansas City. One tow truck driver opened fire on the other tow truck drivers as they drove north on Norfleet Road, police said.

The chase and shooting continued as the tow trucks traveled west on 59th Street. The chase ended on 59th Street between Marion and Norfleet roads.

One of the drivers was shot twice. He was taken to a hospital by paramedics. He was listed in serious condition with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.

No suspect information was released.
