Police identify Prairie Village man as victim in shooting near library

Overland Park police identified a 29-year-old Prairie Village man as the victim of a deadly shooting Wednesday night near a branch of the Johnson County Library.

Micah Babick, who police initially said was a 19-year-old man, was shot and killed just before 9 p.m. in a parking lot in the 9800 block of West 87th Street near the Johnson County Central Resource Library, according to police.

Overland Park Police Department spokesman John Lacy said a red vehicle linked to the shooting left the crime scene heading east on 87th Street. The car was driven by a man in his 20s with dreadlocks, Lacy said.
