Report of gunfire between two vehicles in Olathe investigated by police

Police investigating a report of gunfire exchanged between two vehicles early Thursday are turning to the public for help, according to a news release from the Olathe Police Department.

Shortly after 1:15 a.m. Thursday, police responded to a firearms complaint in the 1300 block of North Ridge Parkway.

A caller described to dispatchers what appeared to be gunfire exchanged between two vehicles. After the shots were fired, the vehicles fled the area, police said.

One of the vehicles was described as a black car with a blue stripe. It had no license plate, police said.

Anyone with information about the exchange of gunfire is asked to call Olathe Police at 913-971-6950 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
