Police release names of 2 killed in hit-and-run crash at 18th and Brooklyn

Police on Monday released the names of two people killed in a hit-and-run crash last week at 18th Street and Brooklyn Avenue.

The victims were identified as Judith R. Morris and Virgil M. Dixon, both 55 and of Kansas City, Missouri, according to the Kansas City Police Department.

The crash was reported shortly after 9 a.m. on Feb. 4 when a maroon Honda Pilot, heading east on 18th at high speed, did not stop at a stop sign and struck a red Chevy Monte Carlo heading north on Brooklyn. The force sent the Chevy into a gray Ford Fusion at the intersection.

Police said the Honda was stolen from Independence.
