Man in critical condition after overnight shooting in Kansas City

Update: In an email Saturday night, Kansas City police said the victim has died. The incident is being investigated as a homicide.

One person is in critical condition following a shooting near 109th Terrace and Marsh Avenue in Kansas City early Saturday morning, police said.

Kansas City police were called to a home at the 8400 block of East 109th Terrace just before 2 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived they said they found a man lying on the ground with injuries from a gunshot wound.

The man was brought to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries and taken into surgery.

Police are still investigating the shooting. Suspect information was not immediately available.
