Woman killed in shooting at KC home. Death marks second homicide reported Friday

Kansas City police were investigating a shooting that left one woman dead late Friday night at an East Side home.

The shooting was reported after 11 p.m. in the 2400 block of Kensington Avenue, police said in a statement.

Arriving officers located a woman who had been shot. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later identified the woman as Tina Moore, 36.

No arrests have been announced, and police had no information on a possible suspect.

Police continued the investigation into the early-morning hours Saturday.

The killing was the second homicide reported in the city on Friday and the sixth reported this year in Kansas City.

Earlier in the day, after 3 p.m., Kansas City police were called to a home in the 300 block of West 98th Street to check on a person. When officers arrived, they found a deceased woman and a man, who was not responsive.

Police later identified the woman as Georgia Petsch, 38. Police said she had suffered an apparent gunshot wound.

A reward up to $25,000 is being offered for any information leading to an arrest in this case or other unsolved homicide cases.
