Man shot and killed Tuesday at south Kansas City apartment complex

A man was shot and killed Tuesday at a south Kansas City apartment complex, police said

The shooting was reported about 12:30 p.m. in the 400 block of East Minor Drive, near Minor Park, according to the Kansas City Police Department.

Arriving officers found the man lying on the front porch of an apartment building, said Officer Doaa El-Ashkar, a spokesperson for the police department. The victim was later identified by police as 32-year-old Raphael Lee.

No arrests have been announced.

Detectives were canvassing the area for witnesses while crime scene investigators collected evidence.

The killing was the second homicide recorded in Kansas City this year, according to data kept by The Star.

Anyone with information was asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477. Callers can remain anonymous. Information leading to an arrest could result in a reward of $25,000 cash, police said.
