Prosecutors expect to file charges soon in a triple homicide that left a woman and her two children dead early Monday morning in Kansas City, Kansas.
Jonathan Carter, spokesman for the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office, said charges could be filed as soon as Tuesday or Wednesday. KCK police on Monday reported a suspect had been taken into custody.
Firefighters responded to a house fire about 4:35 a.m. Monday near North Mill Street and Ridge Avenue, which is just north of Central Avenue.
Police said the preliminary investigation revealed that the woman and two children were victims of a homicide, though few other details were released.
Kansas City, Kansas, Police on Tuesday identified the victims as Yazmin Rodriguez, her daughter Amerikha Rodriguez and her son Jean Carlo Rodriguez. The spokesperson did not want to comment any further on the case.
Larkin & Garcia Funeral Care in KCK identified the three individuals in a death notice posted online, though no details about a funeral were announced yet.
